Academic Report: Recent studies on the physics of fluids
Speaker:Prof. Stéphane Dorbolo
Time:2019.7.8-7.11 9:00am
Location:Conference Room, 4th Floor, Hydraulic Old Building, Yuquan Campus
Abstract:
Physics of fluids studies the dynamics of gases, liquids, and complex or multiphase fluids. In this series, S. Dorbolo will focuses on the following four topics: 1) granular dampers and granular bots, 2) granular + water: organized mixture, 3) from antibubbles to Leidenfrost, 4) low and high gravity visions. Despite his recent achievements, the corresponding basic knowledge will be introduced.
Brief Bio:
Dr. Stéphane Dorbolo is a senior research associate of FNRS in the University of Liege. His main research interests focus on the physics of fluids, including thermal and electrical properties of materials (superconductors, granular materials and soft matter), mechanical properties of granular materials, nonlinear science, microfluidics and physics of droplets. He received his PhD in the University of Liege in 2000.
