Gu Dongdong, professor and doctoral tutor of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, selected as a national “Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Innovation Leader”, National “Millions of Plan” Youth Talents, National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, Ministry of Education “Yangtze Scholar Award Program” Young scholars, the Ministry of Education "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program", Jiangsu Province Outstanding Youth Fund, Jiangsu Province "333 high-level talent training project" second-level training target. Humboldt Scholar, Fraunhofer Laser Technology Institute, Aachen University of Technology, Germany. The research field is laser precision additive manufacturing and 3D printing of high-performance and difficult - to-machine metal and metal-based composite components. Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Laser Applications, Journal of the American Society of Lasers, Int J Mach Tools Manuf, Appl Surf Sci, Int J Precis Eng Manuf and other 5 editors of the SCI International Journal. He is the standing committee member of the Additive Manufacturing Technology Branch of the China Mechanical Engineering Society and serves as the Chinese chairman of the Sino-German bilateral seminar on “High-performance Materials Laser Additive Manufacturing and Forming Processing”. He has presided over more than 20 special projects such as “Additive Manufacturing and Laser Manufacturing”, National Natural Science Foundation, and NSFC-DFG Sino-German Cooperation Research Project. He has published more than 100 papers in SCI, and he has cited more than 1200 times in SCI. He has published one monograph in English by Springer in Germany. Invited primary purpose in this important field of international conferences / special reports 21 times. Apply for/authorize 16 national invention patents. Received the Green Talents Award from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research BMBF, and won the second prize of the Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Natural Science Award) of the Higher Education Institution and the Second Prize of the Jiangsu Science and Technology Award.
