OnMarch 23, 2017, the “Exploration 1” scientific research ship returned to Sanya, and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang University, Shenyang Institute of Automation,Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Geology and Geophysics,Chinese Academy of Sciences, South China Sea Institute of Oceanology,Deep-Sea Science and The Institute of Engineering, Qingdao HuayangMaritime Service Co., Ltd., Beijing Guoye Ruicheng EngineeringTechnology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Changronghai Ship Engineering Co.,Ltd. and other 10 units successfully completed the exploration of theabyss The scientific research mission has achieved a number of breakthroughs. Nearly 2,800 ml of the whole sea deep pressure-tight and gas-tight sampler was collected by the research team of HOME(Human-machine and Ocean Mechatronic Engineering Team) led by Prof.Yang Canjun, the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power and MechatronicSystems, School of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University. This sample is the first obtained at the depth of 10,000 meters in the world, achieving a breakthrough.
Zhejiang University is one of the earliest units to carry out research on abyss gas sampling technology. In recent years, the research team of Zhejiang University has broken through the key technologies of deepsea such as ultra-high pressure two-way sealing, sample pressure maintenance and transfer treatment, and the loss of the abyss water sampling. The sample is difficult to hold pressure, and the gas component is easily lost. As the chief scientist of the “Development of Deep Sea Bottom Water and Sediment Airtight Sampling Device” project, which is the key project of the 13th Five-Year National KeyR&D Program “Deep Sea Key Technologies and Equipment”, associate professor Wu Shijun is responsible for the sea test. The sampling equipment of Zhejiang University is utilized in the in-situ experiment; more than ten deep-dive tests and applications were successfully carried out, and a large number of abyss airtight pressure-preserving samples were obtained, which fully verified the reliability of the domestic deep-sea airtight sampler.
