Undergraduates Won the Gold Prize at the 42nd Geneva International Invention Exhibition

From April 2nd to 6th, 2014, the 42nd Geneva International Exhibition of Geneva was held at the Palexpo Exhibition Hall in Geneva. GenevaInternational Exhibition of Inventions was founded in 1973, which is an annual, large-scale international exhibition jointly organized by the Swiss federal government, the city of Geneva, and the WorldIntellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Also it is the longest history in the world's largest and most influential international invention exhibition.

Zhejiang university recommended six invention projects this year. Throughout-the-spot introduction and evaluation of experts, Wang Wenguang, Zhang Jingren, Chen Gaoxiang, and Fang Shilin, undergraduates of mechanical and Electronic Engineering, under the guidance of associate Professor Liu Hao, The “multi-joint pneumatic serpentine robot” designed and developed independently won the gold medal of the exhibition. In addition to the national award-winning projects, other inventors of our school have also been highly appraised by the judges, and together they have won 2 gold medals and 4 silver medals in total.

  

The exhibition attracted more than 1,000 inventions from 45 countries and790 exhibitors around the world, which were exhibited exchanges and awards during the five-day exhibition period. The exhibition area is8,500 square meters; the audience is 60,000 person-times; radio and television media from more than 30 countries and regions are present to interview, the number of reporters reaches 650, and the number of news reports is more than 4,000.
