Electromechanical equipment such as hydrothermal sampler developed by the research team of HOME, led by Professor Yang Canjun of the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power and Mechatronic Systems, School of mechanical engineering, Zhejiang University, has been successfully applied in the pilot of the Jiaolong manned submersible (China Ocean 35 voyage second flight segment).
from December 15th, 2014 to January 22nd, 2015, Wu Shijun, associate professor of the HOME of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Zhejiang University, taking the equipment (CGT-Chinese Gastight),took the Xiangyanghong No. 9 the scientific research ship to participate in the scientific research activities of the JiaolongNo.1 experimental voyage to the submarine hydrothermal area of the southwest Indian Ocean.

The hydrothermal sampler in this segment successfully sampled the high-temperature hydrothermal vents in the Longqi hydrothermal zone six times and measured the temperature of multiple hydrothermal vents and diffusion streams. Diving in the Southwest Indian Ocean on January 2, the first collected solution was warmed subsea fluid having a high area, and respectively acquired the hydrothermal fluid sample in a150 mL two hydrothermal vents, and measured the temperature of hydrothermal vents 352 Celsius. (For media reports, please see:http://scitech.people.com.cn/n/2015/0105/c1007-26324367.html); Divingon January 12, the sampling successfully collected up to a temperature of 379 deg.] C, a depth of 2765 meters hydrothermal good samples. This is the highest temperature pressurized hydrothermal sample that CGT has collected since its first successful test in2005. Under the support of the National 863 Program and the Marine Public WelfareProject, the HOME team of Zhejiang University cooperated with theUniversity of Minnesota in the United States. The hydrothermal sampler developed by the company has participated in the American scientific test voyage and successfully applied it. For the first time, manned submersibles obtained deep-sea hydrothermal pressure-holding samples, which provided strong technical support for deep-sea hydrothermal scientific research in China.

In addition, on the voyage, the self-capacity hydrothermal multi-channel temperature meter independently developed by Zhejiang University was used to observe the vicinity of the hydrothermal vent for 8 days, and the recorded temperature data showed periodic variation with the tide. For the first time, the thermoelectric temperature difference power generation was used to detect the self-powered hydrothermal temperature. The detection test verified the feasibility of deep-sea hydrothermal temperature difference power generation and provided anew technical means for the long-term observation of the hydrothermal area.
