On the morning of October 9, Zhao Yusheng, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a professor at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, visited the West Lake Machinery Forum of Zhejiang University and gave a report on the theme of "Innovation and Entrepreneurship - Pursuit of Chinese Dream". The report was hosted by Professor Fu Xin from the School of Mechanical Engineering of Zhejiang University.
Prof.Zhao cited "getting out of the 'barbarians' and pursuing the Chinese dreams'" and pointed out that since the reform and opening up, especially in the past 30 years, China's science has made significant progress and got rid of the title of "barbarians."Recently, the Chinese local scientist Tu Yuyu won the Nobel Prize in medicine, which is the embodiment of China's scientific and technological prosperity and progress. It is the embodiment of the Chinese people getting rid of the "barbarians" and pursuing the "Chinese dream." At the same time, Prof. Zhao borrowed the speech of Premier Li Keqiang at the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and said although China is now strong, there are still many shortcomings; it is necessary to continue to work hard to promote "mass entrepreneurship, innovation" and discover the infinite creativity of the masses, not only aiming "topping the sky" - trying to break through the core key technologies, but also "laying the ground" -transforming scientific and technological achievements into productivity.
Prof.Zhao introduced the principle and characteristics of the ultrasonic motor to the teachers and students and the development and application of the ultrasonic motor. The ultrasonic motor utilizes inverse piezoelectric effect and ultrasonic vibration, with benefits like large torque-to-weight ratio, fast response, high resolution, good control performance, self-locking power, good electromagnetic compatibility, low noise, various shapes, vacuum, and high/low-temperature endurance. Efficiency won’t decrease with the size reduction, and it can realize low speed and high torque without a gearbox.
Prof.Zhao shared his experience in researching ultrasonic motors over the past 20 years. He talked about studying abroad, devoting to business, fighting cancer and other personal experiences, motivating teachers and students a lot. Whatever and whenever, as long as you persist, you will succeed. Prof. Zhao has a six-point sentiment to the teachers and students: First, work hard and serve the motherland;Second, diligent, pioneering and innovative; Third, be prepared and seize opportunities; Fourth, ask more and more, create more and more;Five, kindness and cooperation; Six, set goals and persevere. Zhao hopes that the teachers and students will have a high sense of responsibility, integrating their personal dreams into the "Chinese dream", and working hard.
