Professor Tong Shuiguang from State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power and Mechatronic Systems Won the Second Prize of the 2016 National Science and Technology Progress Award

On themorning of January 9, 2017, the Central Committee of the CommunistParty of China and the State Council held a National Science andTechnology Awards Conference in Beijing to reward science andtechnology personnel and organizations that have made outstandingcontributions to China's scientific and technological progress,economic and social development.

A total of9 projects awarded by Zhejiang University as the first completed unit were awarded the National Science and Technology Award, and the number ranked first in the national universities.

The keytechnology research and application of high-power marine gearboxtransmission and propulsion system led by Professor Tong Shuiguang, amember of the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power and MechatronicSystems, won the second prize of the National Science and TechnologyProgress Award.

The high-power marine gearbox transmission and propulsion system is the key device of the large-ship ship power system. Determining the performance of the ship is one of the most important equipments for the development of high-tech and high-value-added ships in the national “12th Five-Year Plan”.

Before theimplementation of this project, the high-power marine gearboxtransmission and propulsion system technology was monopolized byforeign countries, and the key technologies were blocked, which seriously restricted the development of large-scale ships in China.

Through technical research to achieve self-designed power transmission andlarge ship propulsion device manufacturing, high-speed propulsionpower tradeoff proposed design method appropriate context, powerCOUPLED ship propulsion system dynamic simulation and integrationtechnology optimized for low and high energy efficiency Theexcitation optimization design and test technology solves the problemthat the propeller is low in energy efficiency and the bubblepulsation pressure is difficult to control . The innovative structureof the dual-input multi-output combined-vehicle clutch gearbox,adjustable propeller hub and oil distributor is invented. Thenano-reinforced wet copper-based friction material developed by thedevice has improved wear resistance by 6.3 times , and has exceededthe design and manufacturing technology of large torque and highreliability multi-piece wet friction clutch of more than 100,000meters. The technical indicators have reached the internationalleading level.

This technology is equipped with 400,000 tons of the largestinternational ore ship, 300,000 tons of oil tanker, 400,000 tons ofbulk carrier, 18,000 standard container ship, large chemical tanker,ocean scientific research ship, tugboat of the largest domestic ship,07x type dock 2,500 large-scale high-tech and high value-added shipssuch as landing ships, 07x large-scale landing ships, 05x-typedestroyers, and 901-type integrated supply ships t. In the past threeyears, the economic benefit was 11.5 billion yuan and the profit was1.612 billion yuan.
