April 15, 2019, at the invitation of the Department of Mechanical andElectronic Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power and Mechatronic Systems of Zhejiang University, Professor Kim A.Stelson , Director of the American Hydraulic Engineering Center(CCEFP), Professor Zongxuan Sun, the Director of the AmericanHydraulic Engineering Center, came to the State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power and Mechatronic Systems for academic exchanges, and gave the title report. Professor Xu Bing, deputy director of the State KeyLaboratory of Fluid Power and Mechatronic Systems, gave a welcome speech. Professor Wang Feng presided over the report. Professor ZouJun, Professor Lin Yonggang, Associate Professor Zhu Yi and many other students attended the report.

ProfessorKim A. Stelson gave a lecture on the future of fluid power technology entitled “Is There a Future for Fluid Power?”. ProfessorStelson introduced the development of fluid power technology, demonstrated the application of fluid power technology in engineering machinery, robotics, new energy, medical and many other fields, shared fluid power technology in construction machinery and new energy, and made a prospect for the development prospect of fluid power technology. Professor Zongxuan Sun made a lecture on the hydraulic power system of engineering machinery "Transform FluidPower Based Powertrain System using Hydraulic Free Piston Engine" academic report , Professor Sun introduced the technical background of hydraulic free-piston engine, shared his research results in hydraulic free-piston engine control and drive efficiency, and proposed System application method for hydraulic free-piston engines. During the academic discussion session of the conference, the teachers and students present at the conference gave a speech. The two professors gave a patient and meticulous explanation to each question raised by the teachers and students. The atmosphere was lively.

After the academic report, the two professors, accompanied by researcherWang Feng and associate researcher Zhang Junhui, visited the StateKey Laboratory of Fluid Power and Mechatronic Systems and gave high praise to the academic achievements of the laboratory. Subsequently, the two professors and the graduate students of the laboratory conducted an academic exchange symposium, and made specific suggestions for the students' research work, motivating the students to be innovative, and sharing their experiences in career development planning, and the students benefited. This academic report gave the teachers and students a new understanding of fluid dynamics technology, inspired students' curiosity and creativity, and gave students a deeper understanding of scientific research.
