Dr. Ying Chen is the professor in the State Key Lab of fluid power and control, Zhejiang University, and the professor for Ocean College, Zhejiang University as well. He heads a research group of deep sea technology, which consists of technical personnel from various disciplines. His main research interests are now focused on the mechatronic technology and application of deep-sea devices, many of which are related to the exploitation and monitoring of the deep seafloor and underwater cabled observatory.

Prof. Tao Liu received the M. Eng. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2003 and the Doctorate degree in engineering from Kochi University of Technology, Kochi, Japan, in 2006. From 2003 to 2006, he was a Research Assistant at the Kochi University of Technology, where during 2007 and 2008, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of intelligent Mechanical Systems Engineering. He has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Intelligent Mechanical Systems Engineering, since 2009. At January 2014, he joined The State Key Lab of Fluid Power Transmission and Control, Zhejiang University as a full professor. His research is focused on wearable sensors for human dynamics and robot control, Rehabilitation robots and human gait biomechanical analysis.

Dr. Xiaocong Zhu received her Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Zhejiang University in September 2007. After graduation, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Zhejiang University and then a research staff in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Since from November 2012, she has been a faculty at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Zhejiang University, and promoted as an associate professor in January 2014. Her research interests include nonlinear control theories and applications, precision control of mechatronic systems, smart materials and structures. Dr. Yang received his Ph. D. degree in mechanical engineering from the Zhejiang University in 1997. Since 1997, Dr. Yang has been a faculty at Zhejiang University. In 2004, he visited Minnesota University. During that time, he joined a deep-sea scientific investigation in voyage AT11-07, and developed a technical research about exploring the deep-sea hydrothermal. In 2011, he visited Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), and made a research about submarine observation network in cooperation. A secondary junction box developed in “Submarine Observation Network Junction Boxes” successfully docked with MARS undersea observation network of MBARI, and it worked steadily for 6 months. In 2013, he visited the Applied Physics Laboratory of the University of Washington, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, University of Connecticut, and developed research cooperation and academic exchanges.

Chen is quite famous for the achievements he has made in the fields of electro-hydraulic servo control, signal processing and NVH testing of vehicles, et al. Now, Chen is a Ph. Prof Jin Xie received B.Eng. degree from Tsinghua University in 2000, and M.Eng. degree from Zhejiang University in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2008. From 2007 to 2011, he worked in Institute of Microelectronics, Singapore, where he was a scientist in the Sensors and Actuators Microsystems Program. From June 2011 to July 2012, he worked as a post-doc researcher in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA. He was selected by “Thousand Youth Talents Plan” of China in 2012. In October 2012, he joined The State Key Lab of Fluid Power Transmission and Control, Zhejiang University as a full professor. His research interests include micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), dynamic signal processing, and precision engineering.

Prof. Jian-hua Wei, male, born in March 1965, in Tongxiang, Zhejiang Province. He received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the Zhejiang University in 1995 after obtaining M.Eng. degree in 1992 and B.Eng. degree in 1987 both from the Zhejiang University, majoring in the fluid power transmission and control. After two years of postdoctoral research, he left the power-driven machinery and engineering thermo-physics postdoctoral station of Zhejiang University. Then he joined the State Key Lab of Fluid Power Transmission and Control, and became a faculty. At 2004, he was promoted as a professor. In the same year, Prof. Wei was enrolled in “New Century Talents Program” of the ministry of education. In 2006, he was enrolled in the “151 Talents Project “of Zhejiang province. Now he serves as Deputy Director of National Electro-hydraulic Control Engineering Research Center in Zhejiang University. His research interests include fluid power transmission and electro-hydraulic control theory, as well as its engineering applications for major equipment. As project leader, Prof. Wei took the responsibility for two projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, four projects of The National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), and more than 30 other national and provincial major research projects.
